India's first Biennale - The Kochi-Muziris Biennale unveiled today

The Kochi-Muziris Biennale - an international exhibition of contemporary art has been unveiled today in kochi, Kerala. Honorable CM of kerala Mr Oomen chandy lighted up the great event in the unveiling program held at parade ground, Fort kochi. For kochi and kerala the coming three months will be the days of art and creativity.

More than 80 artists from various parts of the world is participating in this event, among that 44 were from our India and among 22 will be from our kerala itself. Indian and international artists will exhibit their artworks across various mediums like film, installation, painting, sculpture, new media and performance art etc.


Biennale is not simply an exhibition of creativity, It deals with each and every sides of art including its effort, implementation, management, marketing etc. There will be talks, seminars, screening, music, workshop and other educational activities for different ages of people...

In association with biennale, there will be gazal nights, film shows, dramas etc.. In short biennale will add colors to the sky of kochi.

Exhibitions will be held in locations across kochi, muzris and its surrounding places. Kochi Durbar Hall, fort kochi Aspin wall House, pepper house, moythu heritage, kashi arts cafe, parade ground, mattancheri bazar road, old dock are some of the main spots of event.

At last on 13 march 2013 the first biennale of india will pull down its curtain.
